The OSToM Assessment

We use TripleIC’s ADVOCATE methodology to perform the assessment. This is an advanced assessment tool, employing technology used widely in Europe and the USA, that is nevertheless quick and easy to use. We ask you whether you would act as an advocate for a given company, recommending it to friends, colleagues and peers.

  • If your answer's yes, we ask you what you prize about the company.
  • If it's no, we ask what turns you off.
  • If it's maybe, we ask what the company would have to do to turn you into an advocate.

We also ask you whether your estimation of this company is heading upwards or downwards, and how you rate it for responsiveness. Finally we ask for free-form comments - which (as you can imagine) can be the most revealing.

The quarterly results will be accompanied by a commentary from our expert Assessment Panel, consisting of:

Dr Richard Sykes

Dr Sykes is a recognized authority on outsourcing. He works primarily in the vendor community, where he advises on practical approaches to the delivery of sustainable stakeholder returns in the very competitive services market place. He works in particular with clients who, active in the outsourcing and offshoring ‘space’, are making the challenging journey to becoming sustainably competitive suppliers of these services. His experience has allowed him to shape a structured methodology that brings focus to this difficult business transformation.

René Carayol

René Carayol has a unique position in world business. As a former director of IPC Magazines Ltd he has hands-on experience of board room responsibility. As a TV business commentator he has public visibility for such popular series as Pay Off Your Mortgage in Two Years. As an author he wrote the best-selling series of Voodoo management books. He is both a top level government adviser and a university visiting professor.
Yet it is as a speaker, presenter and facilitator that René makes his most distinctive contribution. He drives meetings with a unique mixture of enthusiasm and insight, generating a level of energy in a meeting - small or large - that must be experienced to be believed. René opens people’s eyes to truths they never knew they knew, creating visions that will enable ordinary people to achieve extraordinary things. Participants never leave a Carayol meeting without their minds, their aspirations and their spirits uplifted and transformed.

David Butler

David Butler was the co-founder and chairman of Butler Cox plc. He was also the originator of the Butler Cox Foundation, the company’s IT research group. He was for many years a guest lecturer at IBM’s training centre in La Hulpe, Belgium. He has served as a director of Istel, the company that provided outsource services to the Rover and Jaguar groups. He is now CEO of TripleIC Ltd.
